Deseriee A. Kennedy
Deseriee A. Kennedy is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Tennessee College of Law. She received her B.A. from Lehigh University in 1984, her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1987 and was an Abraham Freedman Fellow at Temple Law School, receiving an LL.M. from that institution in 1995. She practiced law in Los Angeles, California and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before entering teaching. Professor Kennedy teaches in the areas of Civil Procedure, Family Law, Family Violence, and Women and the Law. She researches and publishes in the areas of critical race theory and the media, consumer discrimination, feminist legal theory, and civil procedure. Professor Kennedy is currently the Faculty Senate President for the Knoxville campus.
